You are right, but it’s only a temporary help. Good for a few months only. All that accomplished was to shift taxes from road usage to other taxing plans.
This is from the Florida Revenue dept.
The Florida Motor Fuel Tax Relief Act of 2022 reduces the tax rate on motor fuel by 25.3 cents per gallon. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis, the tax rate reduction begins Saturday, October 1, and extends through Monday, October 31. Wow, 25 cents discount for one whole month. If he truly wanted to help then why not suspend the sales tax for six months?
