You men folk needed your eyes checked, that's all!!
Seriously, Jamie, can you see what I'm talking about? Look directly under her chin, something looks wonky to me. Don't let your eyes go any further, there's something strange about the angle, the shading, just something.....
This article made me smile so I wanted to share it and hear your thoughts on it. A family of 4 that normally does not dine at "chain restaurants" decided to try Outbahick Steakhouse. They were pleasantly surprised about the quality and value of their meal, yep, dinner for 4 cost ONLY $165.00!
I realize taking a family out to dinner and/or a day of fun can be expensive but I wonder if the "AVERAGE FAMILY" would spend $165.00 on a dinner out? What say you?
My question though was geared more toward the "AVERAGE FAMILY". Can the AVERAGE FAMILY really afford to spend $165 on a meal? My thought was that this was NOT the average family because the writer admittedly said that they do not normally frequent "chain restaurants".
the average family would not spend that kind of money on a meal. that is 42 bucks each. A man and his wife and 2 kids, the kids can't eat 42 bucks worth each, so the adults had to be indulging in alcohol for the prices to get that high.
165 bucks would feed the family for a week.
I haven't eatin at a place like that in a long time.
it cost around 24 dollars the last time I ate at Lonestar. That was salmon and some small meat ,salad, baked tater and sweet tea.and that was a twice a year thing back when I was working when I would go out of town to visit freinds. not a "average" meal for sure
I am not a one for eating out that often and I am always surprised at the costs when I do. Although I do always go to quality restaurants when I do.
Having seen my bills on these occasions $165 dollars for a family does not totally surprise me.
In answer to your question, NO, I don't think that the average family can afford this except perhaps on a particularly special occasion and for many not even then.
At the moment there are many average families struggling to make ends meet and going out to eat is a fading memory.
Taking my dad to the hospital to spend some time with his girlfriend that hasn't woke up yet, I got hungry sitting there for 4 hours. So I went to the cafeteria.
HOLY SHIT. Well, I got some baked chicken over rice that looked much better than it actually was and made up a nice salad that admittedly was 1 of the best I have in a while ,and a 16 oz gater aide.
14 Frigen dollars! I got no sides,no bread, just the chicken and rice, and the salad did not fill up the container!.
I was thinking, if I come back up here, which I am sure I will be , I will be bringing some candy bars and such in my pockets!
No way in hello I could afford to eat like that every day. I later found out that they had hamburgers and such reasonable but I was not familiar with this particular cafeteria although it is the nearest hospital to me,I know a couple that are a 100 miles from here all to well because of sick family and freinds
you spent a 120 bucks on 1 meal?
that is a tank of gas for my truck that you shoveled into your stomach! you won't get near the mileage out of it either!
What the Hello did you eat that cost 120 bucks???????
So many folks are playing pickleball, what's up with that? Is it a Midwest thing or are people playing pickleball all across the country or perhaps all over the WORLD!?
well we lost a couple good 1's over the past few days, Bob Barker got as close to a 100 as he could without going over and Joe the plumber.

What experiance I have had with a cat in that situation, if I toss the toy, the cat just looks at me like, "if you want the damn thing go get it yourself"
Is it me, am I just an insensitive and a callous person because I cringe most almost every single time I see someone pleading for help with a GoFundMe post!? I mean It's not inexpensive when a person dies and so often you will see a GoFundMe set up to defray funeral expenses. Today I saw a post asking for help to pay the homeowner insurance! Have people gone completely beserk?
I mean, my birthday is quickly approaching and I need to plate 4 cars, my homeowner insurance and car insurance renews evey October 1 and my summer property taxes are due September 14. All in, those things run approximately $7,000 and I feel piss poor by mid October! dgraff, take pity on me and send me some cash money, please!
Thanks for reminding me my property taxes are due the end of this month yeah I’m in the same situation car insurance garage insurance and homeowners all due the end of this month on top of my normal monthly bills
Still working at 90? May the good Lord bless you with good health!
You're a "baby boomer" and I'm a boomer, too! Aside from the generation before us (Silent generation) there's nothing like us. Well, maybe Generation X isn't all bad..... So many people wanting, expecting and/or asking for something without working for or doing anything to achieve it! It's difficult to see this world, our world, turning into a shit hole!
Dgraff touches on something that the young folks aint grasp yet and probably are not capable of grasping.
Work gives a person PURPOSE.A reason for being. To fulfill a task, to improve life for others by building a road, fixing a car, cooking food.
Young people without any sense of purpose are a burden to society ,not a asset. And when people get to a certain age and retire, they suddenly find they have no purpose. they have lost it when they stopped working. Some people work for much longer, and live longer to. How many old people have you watched retire with big ideas and then die 2 years later ,having done nothing but sit on the porch?
So many folks can't figure out what to do with their lives, go to fucking work dumbass! The rest will happen naturally. You will see the rewards of your labor in a salary, that will improve your lifestyle, you will see a better world because of your work, sitting on your ass playing nintendo will get you no where.

Then again, NYC prices are not reality for most.
