I have a friend on SYD whose (no)name will remain anonymous. It seems no matter what the topic is, somehow his mind -drifter-s and his comment will include song lyrics. If I were playing Rock-n-Roll Jeopardy at a party, I would want him on my team.

Here's my thought; do you have a favorite tune, it might be because of a guitar riff or maybe it's the lyrics. Do you think you know some of the words, great! Please post some of the words then let us guess if we know the title.

I wrote these lyrics 589 days ago, about a girl I met on this site. I figured it appropriate here

We live two different lives separated by miles
What brings us together for this moment in time?
Is it chance or fate? The choices we make?
The things I think during sleepless nights
I wish she was here, I wanna hold her tight
So glad we met and that we did connect
And it's hard on the mind but there's no regrets
Of all the fucked up things that could happen in life..

Ch.
It's a bittersweet feeling if you've ever had
If you've ever wanted something so bad
And just knowing you may never have
Ahhhh.. The sweet kiss of torture..

She feels so right though I know its wrong
It's hard to find the place where I belong
My sexy cyber tease, shes even in my dreams
If this only was another time and place
If only I could belong in her warm embrace
She feels so close yet so faraway
I can hope for tomorrow but can't have today
Oh you never know the road life is gonna take you down..

So beautiful and moving. I think I know who this is about, too. And, no, people, not me! Though I wish it was....

Here's a poignant one I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

I've tried to write a love song, that shows the way I feel

But perhaps I just ain't got it, perhaps I never will
I wish that I could write down words, that I want you to see
Wish I could write a love song, just to you from me
I write the words down, and change them all around
'cos I ain't too sure, they look all wrong, it's just another song
It's all been done before, and it's got to mean much more

I wish that I could write a love song, that shows the way I feel
But perhaps I just ain't got it, perhaps I never will
Rock & roll songs come easy, rock & roll songs are dead easy
Perhaps it's simply that I love you, more than words can say

Is it that I feel silly, when I let my feelings show
Or am I afraid to give too much in case one day you go

If I give in to my emotions, then I might get hurt
If one day you run away, with my uncle Bert
But I'm making fun again, trust me to make a joke, out of anything,
Wish I could think of lines, wish I could make up rhymes
Can't think of anything, good to sing

Perhaps it's simply that I love you more than words can say
Perhaps I'll write a love song, just for you one day

I was born in a beauty salon
My father was a dresser of hair
My mother was a girl you could call on
When you called she was always there.
Ah but don't go home with your hard-on
It will only drive you insane
You can't shake it (or break it) with your Motown
You can't melt it down in the rain.

Good advice, I would say.

I sing this song a lot.
Just punched the clock and boy am I ready
Walkin' out the door a-headin' home
It's time to buckle up again In my rolling hunk of tin
It's quittin' time the evenin' race is on

It's that five o'clock 500 and I run it every day
Pick-up trucks, cars and buses all in my way
We've got Darrel, we've got Dale, Richard, Mark, Rusty and Jeff
Oh, the boss just dropped the green we're on our way
It's that five o'clock 500 every day

Oh, Bubba's runnin' right on my bumper
Pushin' me but there's no where to go
Lane changin' left and right
Blowin' horns and blinkin' lights
Oh, the fast lane has never been so slow

It's that five o'clock 500 and I run it every day
Pick-up trucks, cars and buses all in my way
We've got Darrel, we've got Dale, Richard, Mark, Rusty and Jeff
Well, the boss just dropped the green we're on our way
It's that five o'clock 500 every day

Well, the caution is out we're at a stand-still
Heard there's construction up ahead
Won't be long so they say
Soon we'll all be on our way
Some trucker on the CB just said

It's that five o'clock 500 and I run it every day
Pick-up trucks, cars and buses all in my way
We've got Darrel, we've got Dale, Richard, Mark, Rusty and Jared
Oh, the boss just dropped the green we're on our way
It's that five o'clock 500, five o'clock 500, Five o'clock 500 every day
Every day, every day, every day...

And I don't like a thing about your mother
And I, I **** your daddy's guts too
And I don't like a thing about your ****, no, no
'Cause I, I, I think sex is overrated too

Good luck with this one haha.

Expecting conversational
Return more akin to diapason, oh.
Hope for reason fades away
A hint of heartache
In it's place.
Gone is the time
When I could survive
Nursing on sweet naivete
Waiting for you.

Gosh! Haven't you been in your shower or in your car, you're singing to the radio and you don't know all the words and you can't carry a tune to save your soul? There's a song ( can't remember the title or the artist ) and may thought the lyrics were; "There's a bathroom on the right". I THINK the lyrics are; "There's bad moon on the rise".

Let's have fun but NO GOOGLE!
By #303133 22,Jun,13 23:12
Creedence Clearwater Revival "Bad Moon Rising", Lyrics by Mister John Fogerty.

I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see bad times today.

Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

I hear hurricanes a blowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
All right!

Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.

Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

LOVE THAT SOING!

Regards the "Bad moon rising" song.
Because of his strange southern accent, to us in Oz as well as in the UK the words "There's a bad moon on the rise" actually sound like "there`s a bathroom on the right".

Do I move you, are you willin'
Do I groove you, is it thrillin'
Do I soothe you, tell the truth now
Do I move you, are you loose now
The answer better be (Yes, yes)
That pleases me

Are you ready for this action
Does it give you satisfaction
Are you hip to what I'm sayin'
If you are then let's start swayin'
The answer better be (Yes, yes)
That pleases me

When I touch you do you quiver
Form your head down to your liver
If you like it let me know it
Don't be psychic or you'll blow it
The answer better be (Yes, yes)

That pleases me

I met the fellow after one of his first re-entry commercials back in 2006, while drinking after the shoot at Churchills in Miami. He is an oddfellow, but interesting.
By #360973 25,Jun,13 06:06
I said icky pop (as in shitty/crappy/yucky), but do love the 7 or 8 decent songs The Stooges did on their first 3 albums (very important, but somewhat under-achieving band who are given too much credit for starting garage punk, which they didn't - The Seeds, The Sonics, MC5,... - it was bcoz they had Igg and his image [until he turned into a self-indulgent producer of shite music])...the rest of his career was/is absolute dog turd - the most recent Stooges album is possibly my worst purchase of all time - absolute garbage!

To keep the SYD spirit alive I will submit this one. I still occasionally bust this one out. However, I don't jive with the lyrics, just the rhythm.

That dick...will make ya cheat on yo man Make you so freaky and hot in the ass That dick...will make ya hurt yourself When you don't have dick you'll finger fuck yourself That dick....is an awful thing but you bull-dykin bitches are fuckin up the game, rubbin belly to belly and skin to skin, fuckin like hell but aint no dick going in

How about this contagious song?

I love to sing-a
About the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a,
I love to sing-a,
About a sky of blue-a, or a tea for two-a,
Anything-a with a swing-a to an "I love you-a,"
I love to, I love to sing!
By bella! [Ignore] 23,Jun,13 02:59 other posts
You might love to sing but you seem to be one of those people that I was talking about, the one that can't carry a tune. I don't believe that I am familiar with your songs.

I'm very diverse. I like old and rare to opera, and all the way through death metal. This song has been recorded by a lot of artists. The best version is by Mathieu Bore and is titled I LOVE TO SINGA. It is in an old cartoon with a singing owl. If you have seen the cartoon you would be singing for days.
By #23212 23,Jun,13 17:37
"Diverse"? OK, I sometimes like to sing/hum the 'Ode To Joy' from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Et tu?

I wonder if angels cry? Do they fall asleep to lullabies? If they break a wing can they still fly? Do they nest in the clouds in the sky? Does a soul return from where it came? Will my god even remember my name? I tried a living but its just not the same and I don't want to be alone as a spirit of flesh and bone,... I wonder... I wonder is heaven there? Will I be free to love who Ever I care? And is it against the rules to love somebody to death? What will I do if theres no room left? Does a soul return from where it came?.....

I've got far too many favorite songs. Lol. This one's kinda old, but still near the top of my list.

I don't know why I'm so fucking cold I don't know why it hurts me All I wanna do is get with you And make the pain go away

Why do I have a conscience? All it does is fuck with me Why do I have this torment? All I wanna do is fuck it away

I tell my lies, and I despise Every second I'm with you So I run away and you still stay So what the fuck is with you?

This is my most favoritist ( my word ) song of all time. The words are powerful and I would hope every parent would feel the same emotion when they gaze upon their chi!d. I wish I was able to load all the words but I'm keying this on my phone and my index finger is not that fast.

May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young

Paul Simon, "Something so Right". It's sort of my recent life story.

When something goes wrong, I'm the first to admit it
The first to admit it, but the last one to know
but when something goes right, it's gonna lose me
It's bound to confuse me, cuz it's such an unususal sight
I swear to god, I can't get used to something so right.

Try these on for size without using the net: In Mullingar that night, I rested limbs so weary, Started by daylight, Next mornin' light and airy, Took a drop of the pure, To keep my heart from sinkin', That's an Irishman's cure, Whene'er he's on for drinking. To see the lasses smile, Laughing all the while, At my curious style, 'Twould set your heart a-bubblin'. They ax'd if I was hired, The wages I required, Till I was almost tired, Of the...

3 hundred thousand Yankees is stiff in southern dust. We got 3 hundred thousand before they conquered us. They died of Southern Fever and southern steel and shot. I wish there were 3 million instead of what we got. I can't pick up my musket and fight 'um down no more. But I ain't gonna love 'um now that is certain sure. And I don't want no pardon for what I was and am. I won't be reconstruted and I do not give a damn.

One of my faves.

How long how long will I slide
Separate my side I don't
I don't believe it's bad
Slit my throat
It's all I ever

I heard your voice through a photograph
I thought it up it brought up the past
Once you know you can never go back
I've got to take it on the otherside
