I've seen that erosion of American jobs and I've seen the middle class shrink. People have to blame someone. And it's been Democrats. We are more to blame for it because we have historically been the party of [workers]. They expect Republicans to sell out to their corporate friends and to support the rich. But we don't expect that from my party — and that's my future in this party — to focus on helping the Democratic Party and my colleagues understand how important it is that we talk to workers and we make decisions with workers at the table.

I agree with you. We should close the borderS. Incoming flights, the Canadian border, cruise ships and, of course, the southwest border, but, many, many wise people have tried over the last 200+ yrs and failed.
You bring up a good and reoccurring point, the “defunding” of the police. I’ve never met one single person that wants to take money away from crime fighters, but, there must be at least ONE occurrence. Do you know of such a one?

Alot of promises made, and he has 18 months or so before the midterms to deliver enough progress to maintain a foot hold.Just the DOGE doing away with a bunch of wasted tax money should help alot in maintaining support.
SO much waste in our government with overlapping departments and wasted time. instead of 1000's of irs agents, a couple 100 and some new computer systems to help out with the issues.
