My three day old photo with 133 views, 12 comments and added to six favourites was on the main page and now it has slipped off. Of the first eight photos on the bottom right now only one has more than 100 views.
I've never seen this happen before. Any thoughts?
Thanks. It's the third photo in. Black underwear. /wwwls84geq0kpic.html --------------------------------------- added after 3 minutes

Haha. Oh look, black underwear is back on the main page. WTF? Who's playing with my dick?
Bella,I do sometimes but most of the time I don't like the subject matter. Your thread, thanks to the members that post here, makes the thread very interesting. There's oodles of threads but most are mind numbing. There are about 5 threads that are worthwhile to participate in and yours, despite its acerbic owner, being the best. I've been trying to stay fairly quiet. Your efforts to ignore me has been easy to overlook, but, as always, there's that itchiness you have to give me the heave-ho. The fact is I'm like a bad penny. As long as you don't block me I'll be here.
It's no secret, I do find you super annoying. Your posts, whether they are relevant to what is being discussed is a reflection of your need to be seen.
Why are Florida, California, Ontario Canada and other areas importing farm workers from South America to do jobs when millions of Canadians and Americans are out of work? I don't get it. Were North Americans even offered the jobs?
Because Americans and Canadians wont work backbreaking jobs for $7 to $13 per hour. Ask any farmer in the southwest and he'll tell you they can't get enough workers
While it's true now, even before the pandemic it's hard to work at a job under the sun for 12 hrs. And that's one of the better jobs. Cleaning toilets for $10 an hour is not fun either.
The US farm industry would shut down without undocumented illegal immigrants labor. There are over 3 million farm workers in the US. The biggest 2 states being California and Florida. 70% of them are undocumented. With the average salary being $10-$13 an hour. The day after Hurricane Andrew, we worked the Homestead, Redlands, Naranja area. The state claimed only 44 deaths. Yeah bullshit, we watched them bring in freezer trucks in the middle of the night to haul out the dead farm workers by the hundreds. These people were living in shacks, trailers, and school buses on the farms. You ask how and why that is possible. Because God forbid those crooked ass politicians and the president at the time, would have to accept and admit we have an immigration problem. So those workers were thrown away like animals.
So Trump is ok with all the migrants coming in and doing jobs while millions of Americans are out of work after cutting off all immigration to protect American jobs? Aren’t there Americans with no jobs, no unemployment money and no options who would take these jobs to feed their families?
De For sure. There are but not enough to make up a complete work force. Right now there’s a huge lack of work, but during normal times theres an over abundance of entry level work in the service industry that pulls workers away. Don’t forget that people can take the bus or public transportation while farms are usually very far from cities and hard to get to
A small part of it to is any time a person with much more than a 8th grade education applies for a job of the manual labor type they are told "over qualified" and sent away.
Americans will not work for $10 an hour. They can collect more on unemployment, food stamps, and other government help. Literally they make more money living off the government than working a $10 an hour job. Illegal undocumented immigrants need to work because they can't claim for government help not being a citizen. There is no fixing it. These immigrants want to work and Americans want to eat shit and make money sitting on their asses.
Isn't that the liberal utopia you all dream of? Afterall, it is the Dems/Libs pushing for higher wages. 15 dollars an hour to flip a fucking hamburger. Give me a break!
Scorps, the minimum wage in Alberta, Canada is $15 / hour. It's relative to the cost of living though. The minimum wage is set by each province or territory. Here's a map of Canada's minimum wages. only registered users can see external links
I think it's rather sad that our "system" makes it easier and more lucrative for people to stay home and collect "benefits" versus going out and getting a job.
It is a no-brainer that the cost of living in Michigan is certainly less than the cost of living in California and $10.00 per hour to flip a burger in Detroit could be enough to possibly live a sustainable life in Detroit providing that you don't have 7 babies that are dependent upon you.
It's all in the disguise of having compassion for the "less fortunate" in our society. Let's not incentivize them to better themselves, no! Let's just give them everything so that they'll vote for us. I use to drive a School bus in the inner city, the kids were better dressed than my children, the parents drove nicer cars than I did. Hell, let's cover some of the FREE shit you can already obtain... Housing, schooling, day care, health insurance, food stamps, a monthly check, transportation vouchers, phone, utilities paid for, Elderly care. Then! Let's make our rounds at the churches to collect even more food, clothes, air conditioners, toiletries, even medications. Now they are pushing to give the less fortunate free internet, even MORE money, even computers/laptops. All you have to do is cry broke and less fortunate and that can all be yours, cause there damn sure isn't anyone policing the system for those sucking it dry just because they can. The raging lib will be along shortly to say what a big meanie I am for pointing all this out. Oh, and surely defend it! We should be providing all of the above to illegals too, let's not forget.
Scorps, I’m not going to deny you’re correct all those services exits. What you don’t tell and what makes your rant unfair is the way you assume these people get these benefits. Every single state doles out food stamps based on take home pay. Money help from food stamps is there too supplement the food as you can’t use them to pay bills and Medicaid is to help with drug costs. All is calculated by take home pay and # of people in household. --------------------------------------- added after 2 minutes
As far as what happens in churches shouldn’t that between God and the perishioner? --------------------------------------- added after 6 minutes
I’m old enough to remember , due to the unions, that lugnut installers on the GM assembly line were making $32 an hour. Trash collectors $20 --------------------------------------- added after 10 minutes
You know? I always wonder why people begrudge these benefits for poor people. I’m sure you would not trade places with any of these families. --------------------------------------- added after 12 minutes
And don’t tell me we don’t have the money. All you have to see is the amount of money we are throwing at the pandemic --------------------------------------- added after 18 minutes
I’m glad that you strived to get out of a dead end job. In my neck of the woods school bus drivers make so little few can survive without a second job --------------------------------------- added after 27 minutes
As far as providing it to the illegals, let me refer you to Country Couple54’s posts above.
You seem to be one of those people who found a comfortable position in life and forgot how you got there. Let up on the retoric. It’s not the time.
Raising the minimum wage in this country just causes a stalemate the business owners raise their prices to make up the extra wage difference so nothing changes
Then tell me why we went from $1.10 per hour when i worked Burger King in 1966 to what it is today?
The dynamics of our economy insists on it. The driving force is supply and demand. If a car maker hits it big with a model, he'll raise the price to make more profits. You and I want that car so we ask for a raise (not quite that simple). With so many people under the poverty level, the raise is to but food and pay for living expenses. If payroll stays stagnated soon you have to get the feds to step in and dole out more food stamps and money. Isn't it easier to bring the minimum wage to $15 and let employers figure it out? Even with layoffs it would stabilize. Some people would suffer but life is not fair --------------------------------------- added after 8 minutes
You are a mechanic. You probably use a program to quote your jobs. I bet you have to revise it every year or so because the hourly flat rate changes. Front brakes were $260 flat. What is it now_
Ok so I have 2 technicians working for me now every time they raise the minimum wage even though my guys make well above the minimum wage they still want a raise so to compensate for the extra I have to pay out I have to raise my labor rate and let me tell you every business owner in the United States does the same thing so what did the poor man gain he’s now paying more for a loaf of bread and gasoline and clothing every thing
You are confused on the timing. When YOU give your guys a raise, the bread and milk doesn't go up, perhaps for a long time, perhaps never. During this time frame your guys will be better off. The baker and the milkman are not involved. Is this for ever? No, only until they start feeling a new pinch. It's this delicate dance of wages/ buying power that keeps everyone somewhat happy. But, getting back to you. You do have to raise your prices but the customer doesn't realize it. He just says,"F**k, there goes dinner out for three weeks.
How do you figure I’m sure the bakery puts his prices up to because his bakers ask for more money to same with milk and clothing just watch what your paying for things now and then compare after the minimum wage goes up you will see I’m in business over 35 years I’ve watched it many times
True, but not the same day you up your guys pay. (In normal times) there are thousands of emplyees that get a raise every day yet bread stays the same, a case of beer is about $22. Now, if the cycle gets twisted like during a catastrophe or an international price war (a barrel of oil) then it's possible to get into inflation. There are countries were people buy extra food to sell it the next day, but us? We have moderation and protection. We survive, usually. --------------------------------------- added after 8 minutes
There's also equality. Just for arguments sake say you buy a beer today at $2 while making 10/hr. Tomorrow the same beer costs you $4/hr. So you go to your boss and tell himfood costs have doubled so you want $20/hr. Technically nothing has changed.
Don't confuse them with reality Dgraff. Math doesn't lie.
The poor remain poor, the rich remain rich.
If you took up all the money and tossed it in a barrel, then give each person the same amount of money,in 6 months the same folks would wind up with the most and the least as before.
15 bucks an hour, damn, why go to college if you can make that much flipping burgers?
Phart, if you believe that$15 per hour is a lot, you've been out of the market a long time. I did a quick Google search.
In Florida. The average Registered Nurse Salary in Florida (FL) is $66.210 which is below the national average for RN's. The monthly salary is $5,517 and it breaks down as an average of $30,96 per hour. The average BSN Nurse Salary in Florida is $75,130, with an hourly wage of $36,12.
Being in the health industry I know this. Granted it takes an associate's degree (2 yrs) but $15 flipping burgers to $36+ emptying bed pans$ I'll go to college. --------------------------------------- added after 52 seconds
My friend sent this to me knowing that I am currently addressing this issue with my parents, specifically my mother.
I've sure gotten old! I have outlived my feet and my teeth
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
New knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes
I'm half blind,
Can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
Take 40 different medications that
make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
Hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank God,
I still have my driver's license.
Bella what’s going on in Michigan you people are crazy armed protesters in lancing at your state capital --------------------------------------- added after 85 seconds
We have a Governor that had originally set sensible restrictions in place, then got all trigger happy with the socialism and went overboard with new restrictions, many which made zero sense. Some protests and calling out the bullshit and things are returning to normal. The protests were peaceful from what I heard, not the gun toting hype the media likes to attach to such things.
A sincere question, does anyone have a firsthand account of what is happening to/with those who die during this pandemic? With social distancing in place, I suspect that funeral directors are NOT allowing viewing and this might even delay the decedent's interment.
