Thanks for the tips. My shyness doesn't bother me a lot anymore, but now we don't have the wild parties anymore. We used to live in 'lower income area' and have 'friends' (or just people who liked to hang out) there who liked to have wild parties. We had good times together, but we also had problems with them. We found new friends in neighbors and colleagues, but these are a different kind of friendships, with people in another stage of their lives. Some of them have grown out of wild parties and some of them never had them. They do however make better real friends. They appreciate help more and even return the favor when we could use it.
In any case, those are not relationships were wild parties are appealing or appropriate.
