I have sounded for years. I have two sets of sounding rods. The first set is 11 1/2 inches (29.21 cm) of stainless steel. They are heavy and I like to set them in my pee hole and let gravity do it's work. They are long enough to go through my prostate. I can take the entire rod all the way in. I can take the 8 mm end of the rod all the way. It took a year of sounding to stretch to 13 mm. My second set was shorter and hollow tubes 8 1/2 inches (21.59 cm) can go in all the way and not go through my prostate.
