Wash your hands... with soap! Running them under water is NOT washing them. Every time I get home I wash my hands with soap.
You can not wash your hands too often.

Before you start dinner fill your sink with hot soapy water so you can wash your hands and counters as you cook and prevent cross contamination from raw meat to other foods, counters and dishes.

Don't rub your eyes with your fingertips! Your fingertips are EXTREMELY unsanitary. Whatever you have touched is going right into your body if you do that. Use a tissue.

Your cell phone is also extremely unsanitary. Using it in the bathroom is a filthy habit.

Wash your hands with soap often and don't rub your eyes with your fingertips will prevent a lot of contagious health issues.

All of this corona virus hygiene scare is making me OCD about germs now. I shook a guys hand yesterday & he said something like "Now I gotta wash me hand now!". So that made me think about all of the germs he probably had on his hand. He probably touched his cock after taking a piss, didn't wash his hands & then I shook his hand... But as you are saying, you cannot be too sanitary. On the news they said that these virus' bacteria can stay on your phone screen for up to two weeks, so you must wipe your phone screen down twice a day. I hate touching public door knobs too or hand rails

I'm a chef so I'm always aware of cross contamination. I never touch handrails. Do you really need to? No. When I use a public door I either pull with my baby finger on the bottom where most people don't touch or push with my middle knuckle. I've always done that because you're right, they are filthy.
The most important thing (I think) is don't touch your eyes with your fingertips, use a tissue. They are one of the dirtiest parts of your body because you touch everything with them.
Every time you get home, wash your hands with soap!

I open public toilet door handles with my foot, but sometimes you get the locks that make you use your fingers, I hate them Thanks for the tips too

I just thought of something. If you swab ten guys for germs on their index fingertips and their cocks you'd probably find that the cocks are cleaner! Wanna lick my fingertip?

Thanks for the tips, shoot, now I'm thinking about your tip! But really, especially the cellphone part! I used to kiss the screen when I see your pretty cock!

Kebmo, your suggestions are sound but, I have one or two comments. I've cooked all my life and I have never, ever used the counters as cutting boards, pounding boards or even use it to park food without a safe plate or cutting board under it. Using the counter is almost as bad as taking your cell phone into the bathroom. I don't like sinks full of soapy water. To me, it's like cleaning with the last dish's debris. I prefer to have hot water running and washing/rinsing each utensil as it's used and not needed anymore. I have several small dishes out to rest spoons/forks/knives etc.

PS. I keep telling my friends not to call me when I'm in the bathroom as I will not answer.

Those are very fastidious habits. I wrote this blog for regular people. I have cooked professionally for decades and I wouldn't write such a blog for pros, they should know better. This is for regular people at home living a normal life who have habits that could use some tweaking.

Hey, I had a great aunt who soap washed lettuce. To each his own as long as the end game is good. My late brother in law was head chef in charge of one of the cruise ships in the Royal Caribbean line. I remember he suspended a kitchen helper because he placed a half filled glass of milk he had tasted in the cooler used for fresh food. When I asked him about it he said, "in a professional kitchen you have to have NO possibility of possible contamination. So much so that an inspection by the health inspectors would have caused a fine or more."

good advice, thank you. I recall when we had that H1N1 virus year ago, all the malls and restaurants had hand sanitizers all over. How come they are not doing that now?
